I’m a big fan of the Gibson TP-6 fine tuner bridge.  It will fit right up to any Gibson, or can be modified on the bottom with Dremel and carbide cutter to fit any guitar with a stud spacing of 3 1/4 inches (which is almost all guitars).  Although the tailpiece comes with new studs and Gibson threaded spindles for the body, I prefer not to alter the original state of the guitar.  After about 20-30 minutes of Dremel, the TP-6 can be thin enough to accept the different sized stud allowance.

Here’s another example of how the TP-6 can be altered to fit a trapeze style bridge, again without altering the guitar.
The nuts for the original block bridge fit right into the stud slots nice and snug once the holes were drilled.
This allowed the TP-6 to hover right above the body, yet wouldn’t move with tuning changes (like a Floyd Rose will do).

Here's an example of a TP-6 added to a 1983 Ibanez AM-100. The cool thing about this mod was that the body studs had to be threaded
from the top side of the bridge.  In other words, when the strings are removed the bridge doesn't fall off.
